Professional Trophy: TRITON Leads the Way to Spa

Round 3 of the ADAC SimRacingExpo Professional Trophy by SimRacing.GP heads to the iconic Ardennes Forest, as the famed 7.004-km Spa-Francorchamps circuit will bring us nicely to the halfway point. It is one of the most demanding and feared circuits in sportscar racing, as the teams will have to not just best their rivals, but also the challenges of the track.

As with all six rounds of the Professional Trophy, all teams have the chance to change their car more, giving the opportunity for the crews to select a balanced vehicle that has both handling poise and engine performance to combat this well-known and respected track in Belgium.

So far, we have had two different winners from the races at COTA and Bathurst, with new standings leaders TRITON Racing conquering the race and the mountain. But it is still too close to call who will be leading after this Saturday’s race, where six hours will showcase the very best of ACC drivers at Spa.

Williams Esports have kept themselves in the hunt with not placing out the top three so far, and currently tie with TRITON on points in second. The pair are both nine points ahead of the Unicorns of Love crew in third, who suffered dramas on the first lap in Australia following Dennis Schöniger’s brake pedal failure on Lap 1.

GTWR Esports 2 and Veloce complete the top five, both level on 36 points with the former in fourth place based on countback results. VirtualDrivers by TX3 had a decent showing at Mount Panorama, as they moved ahead of COTA winner YAS Heat, who were excluded for exceeding driver times at Bathurst, along with a hefty impact at the Chase.

Unicorns of Love II had a better race last time out at Round 2 and have put themselves in eighth, ahead of BMW G2 Esports, who were denied a win at the Mountain because of the incident at Quarry with the Geekz Energy #53 crew at the halfway point.

Beaver Grease Racing not only complete the top ten overall, but are now the leaders in the race for the lead in the Qualifier class, as they move ahead of the likes of WPS Racing Team, FTW Racing Team, where the top three in that battle is covered by just five points.

This Saturday, the teams take to the track in the Ardennes – our live stream starts at 16.20 CEST. Tune in to witness the next chapter of the Professional Trophy! You can watch the action here:
